My name is Lopes, from Vancouver, BC and born in Cape Verde Island.
From six years of age to 14 years old, I studied under a world-renowned artist, Tiago Strela. This was my first introduction to the world of fine art. I moved to Lisbon, Portugal at the age of 17 and enrolled at Caparica Art school to study classic guitar and art history fundamentals.
I moved to Vancouver, Canada at the age of 21 and studied Interior Design at BCIT ( 3-D modelling, lighting & texturing ). In 2005 I enrolled at Columbia Academy and graduated as a digital analog recording arts /sound engineer
When I paint my pieces, I don’t know what I’m going to paint, what color of paint to use or material. It is more like a journey into the unknown, chasing the colors in transformation. I like harmony in nature and often question everything, My influences come from the spiritual word to fashion design. Growing up around sewing machine, fabrics, textile, opened up a new world for me. My mission in a few words is communicate…..engage…..reflect
